What does Roman James Design Build do?

Roman James Design Build is a full-service luxury design-build firm specializing in custom residences. We provide architecture, interior design, construction, project management, and development services under one roof, allowing us to oversee every aspect of a project from concept through completion.

What makes Roman James different from other luxury builders?

Unlike firms that only design or only build, our integrated approach means the same team is responsible for the vision, technical execution, craftsmanship, and delivery of your home. This creates greater design consistency, more efficient communication, and exceptional quality control throughout the project.

Where do you work?

Our headquarters are in Beverly Hills, California. We regularly work throughout Southern California and also undertake select projects in New York, Miami, and other locations for qualified clients.  

Design & Architecture

Can you design a completely custom home?

Absolutely. Every residence is designed specifically for its owner, site, lifestyle, and vision. We do not work from pre-designed plans or templates.

Can I hire you only for architectural design?

Yes. While many clients choose our complete design-build service, we can also provide architectural design as a standalone service depending on the project.

Do you create 3D renderings before construction?

Yes. Clients are guided through the design process using detailed floor plans, 3D visualizations, renderings, and virtual walkthroughs, allowing them to experience their home before construction begins.  

Construction

Do you also build the homes you design?

Yes. Construction is managed by our in-house team, ensuring that the original design intent is maintained throughout the building process.

How involved will I be during construction?

As much or as little as you prefer. We provide regular progress updates and key milestone reviews while handling the day-to-day management of consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

How long does a custom luxury home take?

Every project is unique. Design may take several months depending on complexity, while construction can range from approximately 18 to 36 months for large luxury estates. 

Interior Design

Do you offer complete interior design services?

Yes. Our interior design team assists with finishes, lighting, cabinetry, kitchens, bathrooms, furnishings, artwork, and custom furniture selection to create a cohesive living experience.

Can you furnish the entire home?

Yes. We offer turnkey interior design solutions, including furniture procurement, accessories, artwork, styling, and final installation.

Project Management

Do you coordinate consultants and permits?

Yes. We manage the coordination of architects, engineers, consultants, city approvals, permitting, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Do you work with my existing architect or designer?

Yes. While our integrated design-build process offers significant advantages, we are happy to collaborate with outside architects, designers, and consultants when appropriate. 

Investment & Development

Do you work with real estate developers?

Yes. In addition to private residences, we collaborate with developers and investors on luxury residential projects where exceptional design and execution maximize long-term value.

Can you assist with land evaluation before purchase?

Yes. We can help evaluate a property's design potential, zoning considerations, construction feasibility, and overall development opportunities before acquisition.

How do I begin a project?

The process begins with an initial consultation where we discuss your goals, budget, timeline, location, and vision. From there, we outline the recommended scope of services and next steps.

Do you work internationally?

We welcome inquiries from international clients and have experience working with owners, consultants, and suppliers around the world.

Can you work with private clients who value discretion?

Absolutely. Many of our clients value privacy and confidentiality. We understand the importance of discretion throughout the design and construction process.

What size projects do you typically undertake?

We specialize in luxury custom residences and estates where architecture, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are the highest priorities.
